O Allah, we ask You on this our journey for goodness and piety, and for works that are pleasing to You. O Allah, lighten this journey for us and make its distance easy for us.

O Allah, You are our Companion on the road and the One in whose care we leave our family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from this journey's hardships, and from the wicked sights in store and from finding our family and property in misfortune upon returning.

Before Passing Miqat: Entering Ihram

When approaching Miqat, prepare yourself by entering the sacred state of Ihram. At this point, declare your niyyath and recite:

Sa’ee between Safa and Marwah

Embark on Sa’ee by acknowledging the significance of Safa and Marwah. At the foot of Safā, recite this (only once):

Du’a for Sa’ee:

Innas-Safā wal-Marwata min sha’ā’ irillāh faman hajjal- baita auwi’ tamara falā junāha ‘alaihi an yattawwafa

bihimā wa man tatawwa’a khairan fa innallāha shākirun ‘aleem. Nabda’u bimā bada’ Allāhu bihi.

Meaning: Verily! As-Safā and Al-Marwah are from the signs of Allāh. So it is not a sin for him who performs Hajj or ‘Umrah of the House to perform the walk between them. And whoever does good voluntarily, then verily, Allāh is All-Recogniser, All-Knower.

And at each hilltop, proclaim:

Recite At The Tops Of Safa And Marwah:

Each time on the hill of Safā, face the Kaabah and recite 3 times with your hands raised

Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar, Allāhu Akbar. Lā ilāha illallāh, wahdahu lā syarikalah, lahul mulk, wa lahul-hamd, yuhyi wa yumit, wa huwa ‘alā kulli shay’in qadeer. Lā ilāha illallāh wahdahu lā syarikalah, anjaza wahdahu, wa nasara ‘abdahu, wa hazamal ahzāba wahdah.

Meaning:

Allāh is the Greatest, Allāh is the Greatest, Allāh is the Greatest. There is none worthy of worship except Allāh alone, without a partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and all praise. He alone gives life and causes death, and He is All-Powerful over everything. There is none worthy of worship except Allāh alone, without a partner. He has fulfilled His promise, aided His slave and He alone has defeated the confederates.

Concluding the Sa’ee

After completing Sa’ee, men should shave or trim their hair, and women should shorten theirs by a fingertip’s length, thus concluding the Sa’ee.
